This series was shot in the Spring of 2007, as the final project for my digital two class. The assignment was to create a cohesive body of work through digital techniques. These images are meticulously crafted in Photoshop from multiple digital images shot at different exposure settings, focus, and time of day. By using the trickery of photoshop to enhance tonal range, texture, balance, and other details which are nearly impossible to tweak in a darkroom, I wanted to question the difference between capturing an image and creating an image. In the end, I discovered that creating this type of image in photoshop is more akin to painting than photography.
